Thank You!! + Mac Release + Future Project Announcement
Hello everyone!! I've wanted to post this for a while now, so let's get to it! Here's a short summary to those who need it! TL;DR:
- Thank you to everyone who played the game!! <3
- Mac ver. is now available.
- The next project will be a submission for YanJam2023!
- BIG FAT THANK YOU!!
First of all, thank you thank you thank you!! to everyone who downloaded and played the game, shared gameplays of it on Youtube, commented and rated the game out of all the games on itch.io! We're so very grateful despite our silence ;;v;; As the sole manager of the account, I haven't been super attentive in replying to comments since then but please know I've read and appreciated every single one (and the team does too)!! It's been months since the release of Lift Your Spirits, but the reception it received surpassed way more than me and my team could ever expect!
- MAC RELEASE
This is a long overdue addition to the game files, thank you so much for those who reached out requesting it! It was very much an oversight not to include a Mac build, but rest assured future projects will include those as well! I can't say the same for Android, as I'm not very good at coding itself. So sorry to those who play on mobile ;v; I can't promise it'll be a clean bugless build, as that usually happens with Mac builds? But hopefully the file provided works okay!
- FUTURE PROJECT + CURRENT TEAM
While working on Lift Your Spirits, DeersphereStudios consisted of a few members with differing skills as we developed the game. But since then our members have been working on other game projects since then in a separate genre. I personally wanted to keep the account for the visual novel genre, as users have followed expecting the same content. So from here on out, DeersphereStudios is represented by one person and the user profile has been changed to reflect as such.
Rest assured! I can't do fancy GUI menus but scrapping together a story has been working well so far. Which brings me to my final point: my next project in the works! I don't want to give too many details, but it's being made for the Yandere Game Jam 2023! I've been wanting to tackle a yandere love interest for a while now, so it kinda pushed me to finally start it.
That's all, folks! Thanks for reading this far, hope you have a lovely day <3
- DUMB FACTS I WANTED TO SHARE the announcement post is over you can leave now <3
- Alma's favourite soda flavor is orange :-) It's what caused their death though so--
- Some of the creepy ambience within the game were actual ambient sounds recorded from Neptune and Mercury (yes, the planets)!
- I've seen people compare Alma to John Doe, and I completely understand!! I've actually designed Alma since January (John Doe was released in March). I was initially worried people will think I copied the design, but I've come to accept comparisons would be made especially in a somewhat niche horror/romance VN genre. I loved the game made by Scopophobia Studios though, the visual styles and spooks were inspiring!
- My friend in charge of the coding left a short clip of 'Tempo' within the game folders during testing but shoutout to user MilkyyCreamii for finding it. You a real one.
- This will probably be the last update to Lift Your Spirits. I don't plan on writing a sequel, as it's just a simple concept to test out Ren'Py as a game engine. But you're welcome to make fanart/fangames/fan content if you so wish! :-D
